Journal with DOI and ISSN: What These Identifiers Mean for Your Paper
What an ISSN and a DOI actually prove, how to check them yourself in two minutes, and how IJVAST assigns both.
Last updated:
Many colleges and recruiters ask whether your paper was published in a journal 'with ISSN and DOI'. These two identifiers are often misunderstood. Neither one is a quality rating, but both are basic signs that a journal is a real, registered, permanent publication rather than a one-off website.
This page explains each identifier, shows you how to verify them independently, and states how IJVAST uses them.
What an ISSN is
An International Standard Serial Number identifies a continuing publication such as a journal. In India, ISSNs are assigned by the ISSN National Centre at NIScPR. IJVAST's online ISSN is 2839-5379. You can check any ISSN on the ISSN Portal (portal.issn.org). An ISSN shows the journal is registered; it does not rank or approve the journal.
What a DOI is
A Digital Object Identifier is a permanent link to one specific article. IJVAST is a Crossref member with prefix 10.68296, and each published paper gets a DOI built from its Paper ID, for example 10.68296/IJVAST20260073. Typing https://doi.org/ followed by the DOI always leads to the paper, even if the website moves. You can check any DOI at search.crossref.org.
How to verify a journal in two minutes
- Search the ISSN on portal.issn.org and confirm the journal title matches.
- Search an article DOI on search.crossref.org and confirm it resolves to that journal.
- Check the journal states its publisher, address and contact email clearly.
- Be cautious of journals claiming UGC, Scopus or 'government approval' without verifiable proof.
What IJVAST is, in plain facts
- Full name: International Journal of Vast Advancements in Science & Technology (IJVAST), published by SkyInnovate Technologies.
- ISSN 2839-5379 (Online), assigned by NIScPR, the ISSN National Centre for India.
- Crossref member with DOI prefix 10.68296. Each published paper gets a DOI in the form 10.68296/<Paper ID>.

- IEEE two-column format. A free Word template is available on the Sample Paper page.
- Editorial review target of 48 hours from submission to first decision.
- Publication fee: Rs 1,200 for Indian authors (18% GST included) or USD 25 for international authors. It is charged only after acceptance.
How to submit, step by step
- Download the IEEE template from the Sample Paper page and place your manuscript in it.
- Check references, figure numbers and author details (names, affiliations, emails).
- Create a free author account and submit through the Submit Paper page.
- Watch your email and author dashboard: the editorial decision normally comes within 48 hours.
- If accepted, make any requested corrections, pay the fee, and approve the galley proof.
- Your paper is published online with its DOI, and you can download your certificate from the dashboard.
What IJVAST does not claim
IJVAST is not listed in UGC-CARE, Scopus or Web of Science and does not have an impact factor. We would rather you know this before you submit than after. If your university, scholarship or promotion rule requires one of those listings specifically, check with your guide or department first. For coursework, project reports, conference-style publication, skill building, placement portfolios and an early publication record, a peer-reviewed open-access journal with an ISSN and Crossref DOIs is often exactly what students need.
Frequently asked questions
When is my DOI assigned?
After publication the editor registers the DOI with Crossref. It becomes active once Crossref confirms the deposit, and it appears on your paper page and certificate.
Is ISSN the same as UGC approval?
No. An ISSN registers the journal as a serial publication. It says nothing about UGC-CARE listing.
How long does review take?
The editorial target is 48 hours from submission to a first decision. Papers needing major revision take longer because you have to revise and resubmit.
How much does it cost?
Rs 1,200 for Indian authors (18% GST included) or USD 25 for international authors, charged only after acceptance. There is no submission fee.
Is IJVAST UGC-CARE or Scopus listed?
No. IJVAST holds ISSN 2839-5379, assigns Crossref DOIs and publishes open access, but it is not listed in UGC-CARE, Scopus or Web of Science.
