Journal for B.Tech Students: Publishing Your Project as a Research Paper
A practical guide for B.Tech students publishing for the first time, from choosing what to write to receiving your DOI and certificate.
Last updated:
For B.Tech students, a published paper is a strong addition to a resume for placements, internships and MS or M.Tech applications. It shows you can finish a project, explain it clearly and survive peer review. Many final-year teams publish their project report as a paper.
IJVAST welcomes first-time authors. Editors give clear feedback, the fee is fixed and shared across the whole team, and every author receives a certificate.
Good B.Tech work to turn into a paper
- Your final-year or mini project, with measured results.
- An IoT, Arduino or Raspberry Pi prototype with test data.
- A machine learning model trained on a public dataset, compared with baselines.
- A design calculation or simulation from a mechanical, civil or electrical project.
Advice from our editors
- Turn the project report into a 4 to 6 page paper; cut background chapters.
- Show real results: tables, graphs, accuracy, error, or cost comparisons.
- Write the related work in your own words and cite sources properly.
- List team members and your guide as authors only with their consent.

What IJVAST does not claim
IJVAST is not listed in UGC-CARE, Scopus or Web of Science and does not have an impact factor. We would rather you know this before you submit than after. If your university, scholarship or promotion rule requires one of those listings specifically, check with your guide or department first. For coursework, project reports, conference-style publication, skill building, placement portfolios and an early publication record, a peer-reviewed open-access journal with an ISSN and Crossref DOIs is often exactly what students need.
