Journal for MBA Students: Publishing Your Project as a Research Paper
A practical guide for MBA students publishing for the first time, from choosing what to write to receiving your DOI and certificate.
Last updated:
MBA students often complete summer internship projects, surveys and case studies that are close to publishable already. A paper based on that work demonstrates research and analytical skills to recruiters and is useful for PhD or faculty applications later.
IJVAST publishes management research alongside engineering and science, in a clear IEEE-style layout, with the same 48-hour editorial review target.
Good MBA work to turn into a paper
- A survey-based study with a clear questionnaire, sample size and statistical analysis.
- A case study of a company, sector or policy from your internship.
- A financial analysis comparing firms, ratios or market behaviour.
- A marketing, HR or operations study with data and recommendations.
Advice from our editors
- State your hypotheses and test them with appropriate statistics.
- Describe your sample and questionnaire so others can judge the results.
- Protect confidential company data; get permission before naming an employer.
- Keep recommendations tied to your findings.

What IJVAST does not claim
IJVAST is not listed in UGC-CARE, Scopus or Web of Science and does not have an impact factor. We would rather you know this before you submit than after. If your university, scholarship or promotion rule requires one of those listings specifically, check with your guide or department first. For coursework, project reports, conference-style publication, skill building, placement portfolios and an early publication record, a peer-reviewed open-access journal with an ISSN and Crossref DOIs is often exactly what students need.
